Essential Travel Equipment for 2024: The Best Equipment for Seamless Travel Experiences

Atlanta Hartsfield Jacksone International

As I begin to get ready for an upcoming work trip (by the time I post this, I’m already back) I began to think about bringing you in and showing you how I pack. Traveling smart begins with packing right, choosing the right travel essentials can make a significant difference in how you experience your journey, ensuring everything runs smoothly from departure to return. Everything listed here is not the full list of what I’m taking, if it was, this’ll be the length of a graduate's thesis paper. This guide provides a look at the essential gear that is in my bag and you should consider as well. From the luggage options to must-have tech gadgets, discover how to streamline your packing process and enhance your travel experience.

Bags and Luggage

Selecting the right bag is the first step to a hassle-free travel experience. Consider features like size, durability, and security to find the perfect travel bag. Your choice should align with your travel needs and destinations.

Samsonite Aspire DLX

Samsonite Aspire DLX

My current choice for luggage for the last two years has been the Samsonite Aspire DLX. At the time of purchase I bought the carry-on and medium set and depending on the type of trip I’ll bring either one. The Samsonite Aspire is made of a high quality polyester, equipped with four multidirectional wheels for easy mobility and navigating through airports, ample storage and expansion with plenty of pockets for organization and packing, and comes with a manufacturer 10 year limited warranty.

 Tomtoc Navigator T66

Tomtoc Navigator T66

Next up on the list for bags is my Tomtoc Navigator T66. This is a hybrid style backpack where the front is a duffle and the back compartment has a sleeve for a laptop up to 16” and also a sleeve for a tablet. The Tomtoc Navigator T66 is made of a high quality, water resistant fabric and YKK zipper making it durable for different weather conditions. Ultra comfortable with a 3D padded back panel and thick padded straps for comfortable wear.

Tomtoc EDC Sling

Tomtoc EDC Sling

Last but not least for bags is my Tomtoc EDC Sling. This small lightweight sling bag is a great addition to my travels. Made of a durable, high quality, water resistant polyester and YKK zipper. Plenty of pockets for organization making it easy to store and access essentials. The Tomtoc EDC Sling is my go to when either walking through the airport or the busy city streets of wherever I’m at, carrying the bare essentials for whatever the case may be.

Tech Essentials

In this day and age, staying connected and keeping our devices ready is a non-negotiable part of traveling. Packing the right tech gear is as crucial as any travel essential you decide to bring along. Some key essentials include power adapter and a power bank to ensure your devices never run out of juice. Noise-canceling headphones are a must-have for drowning out the noise of planes and trains, providing a much-needed oasis of calm. Finally for those who need to stay productive or entertained on the go, a laptop or tablet can be invaluable.

UGREEN 100w Charger

UGREEN 100W Charger

The UGREEN 100W USB C Charger is a versatile and compact charging solution designed to meet the demands of travelers and tech enthusiasts. With four charging ports (three USB-C and one USB-A) allows you to charge multiple devices simultaneously at impressive speeds. With 100W of total output, capable of charging larger devices from laptops, tablets to smartphones and smaller tech. With built-in safety features protected against overcharging, overheating, and short circuits.

Anker Portable Charger

Anker Portable Charger

Staying on the topic of power and chargers, another item that always seems to make it on every pack list is a portable charger or power bank. I’ve used many brands, but the one that I always seem to fall back on is from Anker. The current power bank in my pack is the Anker 325. The Anker 325 power bank offers a 20,000mAh battery, providing several full charges for smartphones and tablets, making it ideal for long trips or when out and about walking and exploring. This Anker 325 power bank features two USB-A ports for simultaneous charging.

Bose Headphones

So I bought my headphones back in either 2015 or 2016 and haven't upgraded yet because these still work like when I bought them. One of the reasons I really haven't upgraded is because I had a hard time trying to find headphones that are comfortable for a long time. I tried many brands and after an hour or so my ears began to hurt and that's not the case with these. I did have to replace the cushion recently.

Ipad Mini

iPad Mini

When I want to go mobile or do some work at a coffee shop and don't want to carry my laptop, I’ll opt for my iPad mini. Paired with a keyboard case like this here and apple pencil and you’re set. The iPad mini fits perfectly in my TomToc EDC sling, or in my Peake Design Sling bag with the case.

Conclusion

Packing the right travel essentials can turn any trip into a more seamless and enjoyable experience. Whether it's investing in the best luggage, carrying must-have tech, or ensuring you're equipped with versatile travel gear, each item plays a crucial role in keeping you organized, comfortable, and prepared for anything. Remember, the goal is to strike the right balance between what you need and what will genuinely enhance your travel experience. Note that these items are what I take, there's other items that I didn’t mention but I still pack. By carefully curating your essentials, you can travel lighter, smarter, and with more peace of mind, ensuring every journey is as memorable as it is stress-free.

Happy travels! What are your go-to travel essentials? I'd love to hear your recommendations!
